SMGLL is always excited to have new folks join the coaching ranks. The continued growth of our league and the sport relies on it. Whether you have played lacrosse or know anything about the sport is irrelevant. A willingness to complete the necessary training steps and background checks as well as embracing the SMGLL mission is all that is required. If you are new to the game, we will pair you with an experienced coach who can serve as a mentor and assist you in learning the game and how our league works.
SMGLL has one of the most strict certification processes of any youth sports league in St. Mary’s County. We maintain 100 percent compliance with the county’s baseline requirements for leagues. In fact, we go above and beyond those criteria with the standards we impose on our coaching staff. We do this to ensure the safety of our players and to instill a confidence in the players and parents that we are striving to provide the most competent and dedicated coaching staff possible.
