Chaptico Park – St. Mary’s County
From Solomon’s Bridge, follow Rt. 4 until it intersects with Rt. 5. Turn right onto
Rt. 5 going north and drive through Leonardtown. Take Rt. 234, which bears left
off of Rt. 5. Chaptico Park entrance will be on the right hand side. Please
watch for the park sign. Entrance is easy to miss. If you hit Rt. 301, you
have gone too far. Travel time from Solomon’s Bridge is approximately 35-40
minutes.
Chancellor’s Run Regional Park (CRUN) – St. Mary’s County (Field #4)
Cross Solomon’s Bridge into St. Mary’s County. At traffic signal, turn left (south)
onto Rt. 235. Turn right onto Chancellor’s Run Road. Park entrance is about 1
mile down on the right. Travel time from Solomon’s Bridge is approximately 15
minutes. Note: Chancellor’s Run Road is under construction for road
widening, please allow extra travel time.
Cove Point Park (CPP) – Calvert County
Head north into Calvert County on Rt. 2/4. Pass the Solomon’s Volunteer Fire
Department on your right and the Appeal Transfer Station on your left. Turn right
onto Cove Point Road (MD 497). Pass St. Paul's United Methodist church on
your left. Go through the 1st intersection. Approximately 1/3 mile past this
intersection, turn left into Cove Point Park. Take the first left inside the park.
Travel time from Solomon’s Bridge is approximately 15 minutes.
CSM (College of Southern MD-Leonardtown Campus) – St. Mary’s
County
Cross Solomon’s Bridge into St. Mary’s County. At intersection of Rt. 235 & Rt.
4, continue straight on Rt. 4. Take Rt. 4 to the end and turn right onto Rt. 5
heading north. CSM will be on your right @ the next traffic signal. THE
PARKING LOT OFF OF RT. 5 IS RESERVED FOR CSM STUDENTS.
PLEASE PARK IN THE LOT OFF OF HOLLYWOOD-LEONARDTOWN
ROAD. (Make a right at the intersection of Hollywood-Leonardtown Road to
enter the approved parking area for the college.) Travel time from Solomon’s
Bridge is approximately 15 minutes.
Dunkirk District Park (DDP) – Calvert County
From Solomon’s Bridge, follow Rt. 2/4 North towards Dunkirk. At the 2nd light in
Dunkirk, park will be on the left hand side. Very easy to find. Travel time from
Solomon’s Bridge is approximately 55 minutes.
Hallowing Point Park (HPP) – Calvert County (Field #3)
Head north into Calvert County on Rt. 2/4 towards Prince Frederick. You will
pass the Rescue Squad on your left and the Volunteer Fire Department on your
right as you approach Prince Frederick. Turn left at the next light onto Hallowing
Point Road (MD 231). Calvert County fairgrounds will be on your left. Turn right
into Hallowing Point Park entrance about 1 mile past the fairgrounds. Field is
adjacent to the concession stand. Travel time from Solomon’s Bridge is
approximately 35 minutes.
Milton M. Somers Middle School – Charles County
Google directions: 300 Willow Lane in La Plata, MD 20646-3914. Travel 235
N to MD-6/W New Market Road. Turn L @ Willow Lane & go .7 miles. Turn L &
school will be on R. Approx. 1 – 1:15 hr travel time from Hollywood (St. Mary’s
County).
